Ray Bradbury is a well known name in science fiction. The book Fahrenheit 451 remains one of the classics of the genre. But it's not only his books their are captivating, Bradbury himself is a very captivating human being. He doesn't have a college degree. Instead he was "schooled by life". After finishing high school he did all kinds of jobs during the day but he also managed to spend countless hours in the library and afterwards writing. He mentions that he felt one time he wrote a story in an hour that made the hairs in the back of his neck rise and he knew that that was right and everything he had done until there was wrong. He wrote something from his personal memory so it could be materialized and become something real. From that point forward he would search his subconscious mind for real thoughts and memories and that would be the foundation of his writing. In addition, the soul searching required to produce quality writing stopped him from imitating other people, creating his own voice. When a reported noted that some parts of his books were visionary and then asked Bradbury how he managed to see the future, the author responded that when someone watches closely the human nature, it's easy to see where the future is heading.
