Ray Bradbury is a well known name in science fiction. The book Fahrenheit 451 remains one of the classics of the genre. But it's not only his books their are captivating, Bradbury himself is a very captivating human being. He doesn't have a college degree. Instead he was "schooled by life". After finishing high school he did all kinds of jobs during the day but he also managed to spend countless hours in the library and afterwards writing. He mentions that he felt one time he wrote a story in an hour that made the hairs in the back of his neck rise and he knew that that was right and everything he had done until there was wrong. He wrote something from his personal memory so it could be materialized and become something real. From that point forward he would search his subconscious mind for real thoughts and memories and that would be the foundation of his writing. In addition, the soul searching required to produce quality writing stopped him from imitating other people, creating his own voice. When a reported noted that some parts of his books were visionary and then asked Bradbury how he managed to see the future, the author responded that when someone watches closely the human nature, it's easy to see where the future is heading.

Kurt Vonnegut Audiobooks

Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, The United States November 11, 1922

Died - April 11, 2007

Gender - male

Website - http://www.vonnegut.com/

Genre - Literature and Fiction, Short Stories, Science Fiction, Fantasy

Influences - Breece D'J Pancake, Louis-Ferdinand Céline, Joseph Heller, William March, Mark Twain

Kurt Vonnegut's style is known for blending satire, black comedy and science fiction. Mastering these ingredients does not make conventional books, but that makes sense since the man behind the typewriter was anything but conventional. He was born in Indianapolis and attended Cornell University from 1941 to 1943, where he wrote a column for the student newspaper, the Cornell Daily Sun.
Vonnegut trained as a chemist and worked as a journalist before joining the U.S. Army and serving in World War II.
After the war, he attended University of Chicago as a graduate student in anthropology and also worked as a police reporter at the City News Bureau of Chicago. He left Chicago to work in Schenectady, New York in public relations for General Electric.
Vonnegut was a self-proclaimed humanist and socialist.
Slaughterhouse-Five, based on his experience as a war prisoner during the Dresden bombings made him millionare and continues to gain him fans even after so many years.

The Hunger Games Trilogy Audiobooks

When I think how famous The Hunger Games Trilogy is I immediately get the image of Bailey from Grey's Anatomy saying "let the odds be ever in your favor". That to me was the proof that probably everybody in the world knows this Series. And I think everybody should. Jennifer Lawrence mentioned on Letterman, before the premiere of the first movie, that the Series had a solid group of young girls as a fan base but this series was really for everybody. Well, the box office proved her right. The Hunger Games is a phenomenal success story and rightfully so. Suzanne Collins created a well crafted dystopian world with Katniss Everdeen being the perfect character to be the hero. When asked about what she would like people questioning themselves after reading the Series, Collins replied that she would like people to question themselves what was their relationship with reality tv and with the news; what they thought about government decisions; if they thought any aspect of their lives resembled something from Hunger Games.
